Zoey's Fight: Overcoming Injuries

On Sunday afternoon, 6-year-old Zoey was in the care of a babysitter when she was attacked by three pit bulls. She suffered multiple bite wounds on her arm, sides, and legs, but most importantly, she sustained severe injuries to her right ear.

Zoey was rushed by ambulance to Sioux Falls, where she underwent surgery the next day. She will need at least one more surgery in the coming weeks as she begins her long road to recovery.

Her mother, Casey, was at work when the attack happened, but she has not left Zoey’s side since. With Casey needing to take time off work to care for her daughter, and Zoey being out of school for the foreseeable future, this has placed an enormous emotional and financial burden on their family.
