Zombies Ate My Neighbors animated TV intro

Donation protected

Friends,

My name is Nelson and I’m an animator from Brooklyn who is creating/directing an 80s/90s inspired animated tv intro for Zombies Ate my Neighbors.

On June 29th  Zombies Ate My Neighbors is being re-released for the Nintendo Switch. For many gamers and kids of the 90s, this game is a big favorite, and its high time it got a fun animated intro to go along with it! Check out the Style frames above!

WHERE I’M AT:
Right now I have a 45 second animatic, characters designed, and am ready to begin animation next week (Beginning May 24th)

WHY I’M ASKING:
As I dive into animation, I’d like to get any help i can to help fund the work of other another animator, a background artist and a 3d artist to complete the project.

WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?
I’m a 15 year veteran of the NY/LA animation industry and have worked on shorts and shows for Sesame Street, Nickelodeon, CBeebies, and many others.

WAIT….WHY THIS GAME?
Because ZOMBIES ATE MY NEIGHBORS is a super fun video game inspired by classic horror films that was developed by LucasArts and was released for the SNES and Sega Genesis in the 1990s. Inspired by the game and animated tv intros like Thundercats, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Silverhawks, my goal is to create something just as exciting and dynamic as those intros!

HOW IS IT GETTING DONE?
Right now I've decided to devote myself fully to making this labor of love for the fun and joy of it and as an homage to the game and fans who love the game. I have a lot of experience in pretty much every department of animation production, so I'm going to be creating everything from scratch, and with the help of a few talented friends, make this a reality.

Technically speaking It’ll be animated in Adobe Animate, Procreate, with a lil help from Cinema 4D. Compositing and Editing wll be done in Adobe After Effects and Premiere.

You can check out my portfolio and past projects I’ve worked on here: nelsart.com as well as my instagram where i post drawings from time to time: instagram.com/nelsfarts

The music for the short is heavily inspired by Dance with the Dead for all those who love a good ole retrowave blast of awesome. (https://dancewiththedead.bandcamp.com/album/into-the-abyss)

Any little bit is a tremendous help. Thanks for reading and hope to share this with you very soon!

Thanks,

-Nelson
