Ansell Solidarity Campaign
Donation protected
Australia Asia Worker Links(AAWL) established the Ansell Solidarity Campaign to support the demand for recognition of FTZGSEU in Sri Lanka, and genuine unions at Ansell factories internationally. The workers from the Ansell factory in Sri Lanka’s Biyagama Free Trade Zone, in the west of Sri Lanka, were sacked for being members of a union.
Ansell, which is based in Australia, is one of the biggest glove manufacturers in the world.
AAWL has been organising online Zoom meetings to show solidarity for the sacked workers. Unionists and solidarity activists from Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Nepal and Australia have partcipated in these meetings.
The reason for this fundraising is to purchase Zoom capacity to have translations, as required for the factory workers in different PPE factories around the world to partcipate in the Ansell Solidarity Campaign.
($1400 is required for a two year subscription of the Zoom capacity)
