Zorro Needs Butt Surgery
Donation protected
Zorros story is long, so buckle in!
He was found in October of 2020 with extensive damage to his back end. Still purring, playing, eating and drinking, his fomma (foster momma) decided to give him a chance and his stunning good looks caused him to work his way into her heart (she's a sucker for a well dressed person). Upon taking him to her fabulous vet at Wissahickon Creek, we opted to do a "wait and see" approach. Zorro was still very small. And, because of the unknown origin of the issue (trauma vs congenital) it was the best course of action at the time. He has been back and forth to the vet many times since then with enemas, meds, his neuter surgery, etc....but it's finally gotten to the point where we have a general idea what's going on and the best next steps are surgery and a special diet for life.
It's supposed that Zorro was born with megacolon and as a result of that, developed a perianal hernia. He needs surgery to fix the hernia, and reconstruct the anus. His fomma and foppa are hard working parents of two human children and a plethora of resident animals and are always doing the best they can for all their pets (even the special needs ones)! Fomma Jen set up this fundraiser to try to help them recoup some of the costs of Zorros surgery.
Keep in mind, ultimately, Zorro will need to find a forever home elsewhere. His special prescription diet will be a part of his life forever, and with quite a few residents, fomma would be unable to safely accommodate Zorros needs life-long. We just know he needs this surgery to live his best life and could use a little help accommodating him right now!
Please share far and wide so Fomma Jen can keep helping all the little ones most in need!
