Gunnar Harris-Medical bills and living expenses

My name is Susan Goldston and I am fundraising for my nephew, Gunnar Harris, and his family.

On September 30, 2023, Gunnar suffered extensive burns while cleaning up a brush pile at his home in Bolivia, NC. He was airlifted to UNC Medical Center for care in the burn center. It is anticipated that he will have a prolonged stay in the burn center (a month or longer) and will be undergoing surgery on October 2. Plans for additional surgeries, therapies, rehabilitation etc. remain unknown. His work as a lineman, which provides for his family, is obviously on hold indefinitely. Gunnar's beautiful girlfriend and daughter have also returned to the area to be close to him.

At this time, monetary support is needed for living expenses and of course medical bills.

Update: Gunnar’s surgery went well. They were able to use synthetic grafts and STEM cell technology. Physical and occupational therapies have already started! His current plan still has him remaining at UNC in the burn center for about a month. Following hospital based treatment, he will continue in an outpatient setting. Our monetary goal has been increased to reflect the anticipation that he will not be allowed to return to his beloved pole work until the beginning of the year.
