Samaritans believe suicide is preventable,
not inevitable,
and it is our vision that fewer people die by suicide.
Samaritans believe that being listened to and accepted can help alleviate feelings of loneliness, stress, despair and suicide, especially at this difficult time.
For some people we’re the only place they can turn to without fear of judgment. For others, who might worry about burdening family and friends, we are a safe place to turn.
Whilst incoming calls are not a charge for the caller nor Samaritans (thanks to a generous accommodation with the main telephone companies), and all our volunteers are unpaid, nonetheless, we need to pay our rent in the Samaritans centre in Arklow and pay for heat and light and insurance, also a small amount for promotional materials and consumables, we also invest a considerable sum in training our new volunteers to the highest possible standards.
At this difficult time we need to raise funds by any means possible and it would help us considerably if you could donate to our GoFundme page
