Derrick Silva

On February 20, 2003 my brother Derrick John Silva survived an unthinkable tragedy. He was a survivor of the Station Nightclub Fire, in which over 100 lives were lost. To us Derrick was a true hero due to pulling himself out of a pile at the door and saving a friend he set free others! Derrick suffered severe injuries both physically and mentally. For the last 19 years he has been unable to get his life back together. He had a diehard passion for playing the guitar which he was unable to play ever again. Since the fire he has been battling PTSD, night terrors, and pain medicine addiction. On July 6, 2022, Derrick succumbed to the demons that have been haunting him since the fire. Our family is totally devastated and overwhelmed with the unexpected loss of a son, a brother, a nephew, an uncle, a cousin and a friend. Any donations would be extremely heartfelt and appreciated as we were totally unprepared for such a tragic loss. Please pray for our family!
