Danny Sisneroz- Surgery and Medical Expenses

My Brother Danny Sisneroz was recently sent to the doctor for a ct-scan. He was having leg pain and trouble walking prior to that. After the ct-scan we found out that he has a tumor on his tail bone and lower spinal cord. Family members I have been able to speak to have urged me to tell his story and create this go-fund-me for his medical expenses. I can't tell you how hard it has been to see my brother just lay down in pain and to not be able to help him. My family has gone through this before with my father. Our dad has terminal brain cancer, and I never expected and am still coming to terms that this has happened to my baby brother. He is the funniest, kindest, guy you'll meet. He lights up the room with his jokes and laughter. Our appointment with his surgeon confirmed with an MRI that the tumor has engulfed his sacrum (tailbone), and is embedded into his lower spine. It has already caused damage to the right side of his pelvic bone that can not be reversed. He has lost feeling on the bottom of his foot and has numbness throughout his leg. He was referred to UT Southwestern Medical Center of Dallas, after the first surgeon he had seen denied his case. He didn't feel comfortable that he could perform the surgery safely and effectively. Taking the tumor out is not an option, because of the size and location of the tumor. As it is the surgery they are able to perform is dangerous. From possibilities of bleeding, fluid leaks, and paralysis. The neurosurgeon said he is 99% sure that it is cancerous and the biopsy will determine what type it is so Dj can get the most effective treatment. Danny's surgery will take place this Tuesday the 25th. In order for the surgery to take place we need 5,175 by Monday and the total cost of the surgery is 10,500. The hospital that Danny was referred to does not take his insurance. An authorization has been sent to his insurance to try and see if they will make a deal with the hospital. He is the top specialist for this type of spinal surgery, and with what is at risk we want my brother to be worked on by the most experienced and knowledgeable. Whatever you can spare is appreciated more than you know. This is just the first step of Danny's journey unfortunately. He will still need to see an oncologist after this, and I pray that he will be able to continue furthering his education at Texas Wesleyan after he fights and perseveres this battle that has been given to him. Update: Danny has went through 5 chemo treatments, 4 of them he had to do alone because of COVID. Each time he was hospitalized for at least 7 days, his longest stay was 10 days. In between his chemo treatments he was hospitalized and spent several days in the ICU, he was severely dehydrated, and his heart had stopped, it was a combination of his kidneys being damaged from the chemo and a small infection in his intestines that caused the episode. He was hopeful to have a surgery that would give him his highest probability of being cured, however when meeting with the surgeon they laid out what the surgery entail. 2 days of surgery, front and back, skin grafts loss if bladder and bowel control. He would also have a dropped leg on the right side or perhaps paralysis. After talking with his primary oncologist he made the decision to do radiation instead of the surgery. A difficult decision for a 19 year old. Radiation will still cause complications it will just take time before the nerves are fully affected. Radiation we are praying that it will cure him, the doctors said at most it would buy us more time with him. He’s on his second week of radiation, 7 weeks total and then chemo afterwards. He’s still hopeful, loving faithful, full of life. He’s hoping and praying that he will be given a miracle so that he can live his life. He just wants to live, he’s still fighting and will continue too. We love you Danny
