Wilmer Iriarte tiene 66 años y es diabético e hipertenso controlado. Desde hace varios años atrás presenta fuertes dolores lumbares que irradian a su miembro inferior derecho, perdiendo así la movilidad del mismo. En los últimos días estos síntomas han empeorado, Wilmer se encuentra en constante dolor severo, lo cual ha disminuido considerablemente su calidad de vida, impidiéndole hacer actividades normales y cotidianas.
Luego de varios tratamientos y procedimientos con los que NO ha visto mejoría alguna, los médicos indican que necesita una Intervención quirúrgica URGENTE y en lo más pronto posible ya que de lo contrario podría serle imposible mantenerse de pie y caminar.
Él se encuentra residiendo en Venezuela y su seguro médico no cubre la operación. Como familia, hemos trabajado fuertemente para reunir fondos, sin embargo no son lo suficientes para costear toda la intervención y los gastos que está implica, además de que por sus otros padecimientos requiere tratamiento médico de por vida que han sido difíciles de conseguir y costear por la situación del país, por tal motivo y en nuestro desespero por aliviar su dolor nos hemos visto obligados a usar esta herramienta para recibir el apoyo por parte de ustedes ya que creemos fielmente en Dios y en que juntos podemos brindarle a Wilmer la oportunidad de vivir con normalidad y sin dolor.
Según el conjunto de Cirujanos especialistas, este dolor solo puede ser aliviado mediante una artrodesis instrumentada que es una cirugía en la parte posterior lumbar, con tornillos transpediculares L3, L4, L5 y S1. Facetectomia L3, L4, L5, S1 bilateral. Foraminotomia L4-L5 y L5 con S1. Discoidectomia L3, L4 y L4-L5.

• Discopatia degenerativa lumbosacra.
• Hipertrofia facitaria de las vértebras L3, L4, L5, S1.
• Estenosis Foramidal L4-L5, L5-S1.
• Estenosis absoluta de canal raquídeo.

Impresión diagnostica:
• Ligera desviación del eje de la columna lumbar hacia el lado izquierdo.
• Cambios degenerativos de discos intervertebrales L1-L2, L2-L3 y L3-L4. Abombamiento circunferencial y predominantemente postero lateral derecho de disco intervertebral L3-L4 y en mayor grado L4-L5, sugestivo de hernia discal versus prominencias de anillos fibrosos.
• Reducción de espacio epidural anterior a la altura de los espacios L3-L4 y L4-L5.
• Estenosis del canal espinal a la altura del espacio L3-L4 y L4-L5.
• Reducción de forámenes intervertebrales L3-L4 y L4-L5 a predominio derecho.
• Hipertrofia facetaría L4-L5, L5-S1, L3-L4.
• Síndrome de Baastrup, apófisis espinosas L4-L5.
• Quiste sinovial adyacente a la lámina derecha de L5.

Wilmer Iriarte is 66 years old, diabetic and hypertensive controlled. For several years ago, he has had severe lumbar pain that radiates to his lower right limb, thus losing its mobility. In the last days these symptoms have worsened, Wilmer is in constant severe pain, which has considerably decreased his quality of life, preventing him from doing normal and daily activities.
After several treatments and procedures with which he has NOT seen any improvement, the doctors indicate that he would needs an URGENT surgical intervention as soon as possible, since otherwise he may not be able to stand and walk.
He is residing in Venezuela and his medical insurance does not cover the operation. As a family, we have worked hard to raise funds, however they are not enough to pay for all the intervention and the expenses that it implies, in addition to the fact that for his other ailments he requires lifelong medical treatment that have been difficult to obtain and pay because of the situation of the country, for this reason and in our desperation to alleviate his pain we have been forced to use this tool to receive your support as we believe faithfully in God and that together we can give Wilmer the opportunity to live normally and painlessly.
According to the group of specialist Surgeons, this pain can only be alleviated by means of an instrumented arthrodesis, which is surgery on the posterior lumbar, with transpedicular screws L3, L4, L5 and S1. L3, L4, L5, S1 bilateral facetectomy. Foraminotomy L4-L5 and L5 with S1. L3, L4 and L4-L5 discoidectomy.
