Scott's Medical Journey

Hello everyone! My name is Brian Van Arsdale and I am the Brother of Carla and Brother-in-law to her husband, Scott Clopton. I am creating this page with the hope that God can show His blessing upon them through your love and generosity.Let me tell you about what has been going on in their lives.
On May 29th of this year Scott had a fall that required him to be taken to the hospital in Houston, Texas. After several X-rays and MRIs, it was determined that he had vertebra damage in his lower back. A surgical method was decided, and Scott went in for the surgical repair. Upon coming out of the surgery, heading to recovery, Scott’s heart suddenly stopped. The medical team worked on him for a period of several minutes before they got his heart beating again on its own. I cannot even guess at the number of prayers that went up for him and his family. Scott was then put on a ventilator in the ICU being monitored closely. His time in the ICU has been quite extensive.
Finally, Scott was transferred out of ICU and into a regular patient room. He was there to begin building strength and to hopefully begin physical therapy. Things soon changed, however. He was soon rushed back into ICU as he had a type of stroke which has had a lasting impact on his right arm. It was determined that this was caused by a brain bleed on the left side of his brain. AS if this wasn’t enough, Scott caught Covid while there, which has taken a big toll on his lungs. This has caused him to struggle with keeping his oxygen at the necessary levels.
On August 27th his oxygen level went extremely low, and his life expectation was in serious doubt. His blood gas went extremely low because of his low oxygen level and so he was again put back on the ventilator. Scott has been battling a blood infection and blood clots in his legs for a while as well. At any one day there are several medications being put into him to try to control each of these conditions. It seems that he takes a positive step forward and then 3 to the rear.
He will have been in the Hospital for 125 days come the end of September. With the exceptions of a week or so (due to covid) my sister has been with her husband everyday helping him and watching over him. She has been the one constant that Scott has had in this journey. Their time of discharge is yet to be seen.
As you can imagine with this amount of time away from home and staying with him in Houston, the bills have begun stacking up. They are truly in need of some financial help. It is our prayer that with this GO FUND ME page, we can see their needs met financially.
But if you are not in the position to help the financial needs, please know that your prayers for them are just as important. I want to add a few special prayer requests:
1. Physical therapy to start coming in daily to help him regain his strength and confidence.
2. For Scott’s oxygen levels to remain steady and for his lungs to show God’s healing.
3. For Carla, strength and comfort and to never lose hope.
4. Prayers that his team of doctors would communicate and strive for his healing.
5. Prayers for both of their children and their grandchildren.
If anyone reading this can contribute in any way, it is so very much appreciated. Please help by getting this page out to everyone you know! Thank you and may God Bless each and every one of you
