Winter care packages for homeless

I was born and raised in Los Angeles, and I have seen all different parts of it -- the wealthy neighborhoods, the less fortunate neighborhoods, and many homeless people around the city, either sharing their talent with the public, or just sitting down, holding a cup in their hands.  I was fortunate enough to be raised in a healthy and happy home with two of the most amazing and educated parents I could ask for.  Ever since I was a little kid, I was always affected by the sight of homeless people on the street, even in more upscale parts of Los Angeles and other cities around the world.  Every chance I had, I would give whatever I could to someone I saw in need.  My goal is to construct 100 care packages containing food, water, clothing, and hygiene products, and distribute these packages among the homeless & homeless shelters in L.A.   I also would like to give toys and nice gifts to as many homeless children as I can, who are part of a less fortunate family, to make their Christmas a little more magical.  I have been waiting so long to organize a project like this, but I wanted to do it when I was able to organize and complete it on my own and with some friends, to make a difference in this world, and to give back to the citizens of our city that weren't raised in a welcoming environment.  It would mean the world to me if I were able to raise enough money to make this happen.  To know that I helped people, especially at this time of the year, when the whether gets colder, and living conditions get more difficult for homeless people and families, would make my Christmas the best possible.  I want to show people how important it is to give to our communities, and to not just ignore the people in need, because most of them didn't and don't have the luxuries and privileges that we do.  I will be contributing some money myself, as well as asking friends and family to donate as much as they can.
