Tough. It can mean that something we are facing is difficult. It can mean that something we are trying to do feels impossible.

But it can also be a part of who we are. It can also mean that no matter what someone faces, no matter how afraid they are, they stand tough in the face of a trial.

Tough is my beautiful friend Christina and her family.

She has fought tough time and time again, even when she feels like she cant take another hit. But she battles to the end every time.

And unfortunately she is facing another battle.

Last weekend Christina found herself in the emergency room after having some sudden trouble with her memory and speaking.

The care team at Carson Tahoe quickly found two masses on Christina’s brain. She had emergency surgery to remove one mass, and will once again face radiation and the possibility of chemo to remove the second mass which is currently inoperable.

Tough. Something that is tough for her is asking for help. This GoFundMe is not her idea and something I have to convince her is ok.

If you know her at all you know she would much rather be the one helping someone else.

But the truth is from the emergency room, to the sudden brain surgery, medical bills are already piling up and what is down the road is unknown.

It is tough, but so is she.
