Support a Single Mom After Car Theft
Donation protected
On Sunday morning, 3/2, my car was stolen from my driveway on a quiet street in Salem, MA. On Monday evening my car was found - crashed, upside down and totaled on Washington Street in Salem. After speaking to my car insurance, Progressive, I found out I did NOT have "comprehensive" insurance and the stolen, now totaled car is NOT covered.
I'm a single Mom of 2 kids, ages 9 and 11, and (like many others) I do not have the funds to buy a new car. I appreciate any and all help towards a new car.
(What I know about the theft and crash: Three or four teens from Salem stole the car and then crashed it while being chased by the police. I am very thankful those teens walked away unharmed. I hope they can change their lives after this incident.)
If you search for Washington Street Salem car crash 3/3/25 you'll find lots of information about it.
3/11 Update: It's been one hell of a week. My shock and adrenaline is coming down, I'm so tired and still trying to process things. Last Thursday I went to clean my car out at the tow lot. My son's Pokemon cards and squishmallows, my daughter's art supplies and, my books and all the other things a Mom leaves in her car were all there. None of it valuable so I'm not surprised the thieves didn't take anything, but you have to wonder why it was all still there.. these 14yo kids that stole my car just wanted a joy ride? I'll never know. What I do know is those kids are so lucky to be alive as the damage to the car is extensive.
I keep getting hit with more fees. The tow yard wants $ for it sitting in their yard. My ezpass transponder is gone and it's now my responsibility to pay for it. My car lender wants their payment, of course. I still owe over $17,000 on that car. I had to move mountains to buy it and not even a year later it was stolen then totaled.
I'm overwhelmed with everyone's support. Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared this GoFundMe me, messaged me, or otherwise supported me in any way. I am eternally grateful!
