Liver Transplant - Transplante de Higado

Hello, my name is Laura Samano and I am doing this fundraiser to help my sister Yazmin save the life of her 7-year-old daughter Camila.

Yazmin is a woman whom I admire a lot, from a very young age she has been passionate about helping others that is why she chose to be a nurse. I have always thought that to be a nurse you need to love what you do since emotionally it is not an easy job.

I would like to start by briefly sharing a little bit about how the smile faded from her face and how the sparkle faded from her eyes. This is Yazmin Samano, 37 years old. It all started in 2012 when her first child was born, everything was happiness with little Donovan, until he was 3 months old when she realized that he tended to turn more yellow (jaundice) than normal. That's when the doctors recommended doing studies and these showed liver problems. They later performed a biopsy which resulted in cirrhosis of the liver. Little Donovan continued in treatments and studies for 3 years waiting for a liver transplant, which did not arrive in time due to his death. At this point of death, in August 2015, my sister realizes that she is expecting a baby for the second time. Her entire pregnancy was normal and apparently everything was fine. Camila comes into the world and the nightmare begins again the first month when Camila has her first general checkup. In this checkup they again discover that Camila, like Donovan, has liver anomalies, so the doctor immediately orders treatment and monitoring with surveillance for the following year. After a year, a biopsy and an endoscopy are ordered that reveal an inflamed liver. The doctors take the case more seriously and begin a series of studies and treatments for the next 6 years to protect the liver and gain time, weight and height so that Camila can being a candidate for a liver transplant, with this also begins a fight to live since this intervention is highly painful, dangerous and expensive. Unfortunately Camila's liver began to fail earlier than expected and the doctors ordered the transplant urgently and there is no longer time to put her on the waiting list for a liver. At this time in the family there are a couple of candidates to be donors and the corresponding tests continue to be carried out to find out who will be the compatible donor. For the second time, my sister feels afraid at the thought that she may lose her little Camila, for not having the financial resources to be able to cover this intervention since she and her husband have had very heavy expenses since their first little angel, that is why we ask for your help to be able to give life to little Cami for the second time, since I think that no mother should lose the reason of living twice.

Hola mi nombre es Laura Samano y estoy haciendo esta recaudacion de fondos para ayudar a mi hermana yazmin a salvar la vida de su hija Camila de 7 años.

Yazmin es una mujer la cual admiro mucho, desde muy joven le apasiona ayudar a los demas por eso eligio ser enfermera. Siempre he pensado que para ser enfermera se necesita amar lo que haces ya que sentimentalmente no es un trabajo facil.

Me gustaria comenzar por compartir brevemente un poco de como se fue borrando la sonrisa de su rostro y como se fue apagando el brillo de sus ojos. Ella es Yazmin Samano de 37 años. Todo comenzo en el 2012 cuando nacio su primer hijo, todo era felicidad con el pequeño Donovan, hasta los 3 meses cuando ella se da cuenta que solia ponerse mas amarillo (ictericia) de lo normal fue entonces cuando los medicos recomendaron hacer estudios y estos arrojaron problemas en el higado. Posteriormente realizaron una biopsia la cual dio como resultado cirrocis hepatica. El pequeño Donovan siguio en tratamientos y estudios por 3 años en espera de un transplante de hígado, el cual no llego a tiempo debido a su fallecimiento. En este punto del fallecimiento, en Agosto del 2015 mi hermana se da cuenta que espera bebe por segunda vez. Todo su embarazo fue normal y aparentemente todo estaba bien. Llega Camila al mundo y la pesadilla nuevamente comienza el primer mes cuando Camila tiene su primer chequeo general. En este chequeo nuevamente descubren que Camila al igual que Donovan tiene anomalias en el higado por lo que enseguida el doctor ordena tratamiento y monitorización con vigilancia por el siguiente año. Al año se ordena una biopsia y una endoscopia que rebelan un higado inflamado, los medicos toman mas serio el caso y comienzan una serie de estudios y tratamientos por los próximos 6 años para proteger el higado y ganar tiempo, peso y talla para que Camila pueda ser candidata para un transplante de higado, con esto tambien comienza una lucha por vivir ya que esta intervención es altamente dolorosa, peligrosa y costosa. Lamentablemente el higado de Camila comenzo a fallar antes de lo previsto y los doctores ordenaron el transplante urgentemente y ya no hay tiempo de ponerla en lista de espera para un higado. En estos momentos en la familia hay un par de candidatos para ser donantes y se siguen realizando las pruebas correspondientes para saber quien sera el donante compatible. Mi hermana por segunda vez siente miedo al pensar que puede perder a su pequeña Camila, por no contar con los recursos económicos para poder cubrir esta intervención ya que ella y su espsoso an tenido gastos muy fuertes desde su primer angelito, es por eso que pedimos de su ayuda para poder dar vida por segunda vez a la pequeña Cami, ya que pienso que ninguna madre deberia de perder la razon de vivir 2 veces.
