My beloved friend of over 30 years needs your help!
Here is her story...
5 years ago I had my first episode of viral menigitis. It took almost a full year to recover my balance, my speech, my energy. Since that first bout I have been diagnosed and treated for 4 MRSA infections in my scalp at the base of my neck, ...Meniere's Disease, 2 broken bones, cracked elbow, torn MCL, meniscus and dislocated patella. I had my 2nd episode of viral menigitis last fall. Between all of these issues, I have lost almost all of my hearing in my right ear, my vision is skewed most days, I struggle to find words coming out of my mouth to match the ones in my head, I have balance issues as evident by the multiple falls, sprains and fractures. I am in constant, debilitating pain. While attempting to find answers, I was contacted last week regarding recent labs i had drawn. The labs suggest Lyme Disease. I had no idea this would be the most controversial diagnosis I could have received.
Not enough is known about Lyme disease and the chronic state or long term effects of it. Add that to the residual damage done to my brain and body from the episodes of menigitis and, well, I am falling apart.
I have rallied for many causes through my lifetime. I had people give without pause when I asked for support to make Easter Baskets after the tornados of the late 90's. I had the most amazing outpouring of supplies, money, services, etc, when I felt called into relief work for Hurricane Katrina. You all stepped up once again with the tornadoes that destroyed so many lives not that long ago. I am grateful and proud to be able to call you generous people my friends.
I never thought that I would ever be in a position that I would have to lay down my pride and actually actually ask for help for myself. I am getting sicker and weaker each day. I have lost all semblance of myself. I miss my beer drinking days at the lake, romantic weekends away with my husband. Girls time that brings me so much laughter and joy. Being a strong role model for my children.
There are specialist that may be able to make me better, offer treatment that could give me back my life. They are not local and they are not cheap and, frankly, we do not have that kind of money. I am humiliated to even have to divulge this much.
I could and would never be able to take anyone's money for nothing. Please consider allowing me to make for you. $10 for a decal, or $30 for a decorative tile, etc. This is the only way I have of earning some money to go towards my medical costs and future treatments.I have PayPal account that can used to take the orders. Thank you for the bottom of heart for all you have already done for me.
All my love,
Kristi
