Send UBC Students to Iowa State
Help send two teams of students to represent UBC at the Intercollegiate Animal Welfare Judging/Assessment Contest at Iowa State.
What is it?
A competition for undergraduate, graduate, and veternairy students in which they learn to asses the welfare of animals in a variety of settings. It is designed to increase awareness for the welfare concerns of animals in agricultural, biomedical, and companion settings. Additionally it will provide students with an oppurtunity to network with colleagues from various universities and to improve their public speaking skills.
This year the competition will be held at Iowa State University November 18th-19th.
What do the funds go towards?
All funds will go towards covering competition related expenses for students and supervisors. This includes airfare, hotels, competition fees etc. If enough funds are not raised, UBC students will have to pay out of pocket. Our goal is to make sure attending the competition is accessible to all students.
Although the competition is in November, funds will be collected until December 31st 2017.
