Shelby's fight for life!
Donation protected
Shelby was born with a liver disease called biliary atresia. She was placed in foster care at two years of age. Shelby was adopted at age seven, however the foster family that adopted her found that her medical problems were to much for them to handle, and she was placed back in to the system. At age nine shelby found her forever home with my husband, my self, and our seven children, we could not imagine life without our little shelby. She makes everyones day brighter. Unfortunetly her disease has progressed to the point of no return. She is in desperate need of a new liver, this means lots of travaling to her liver doctor who is in Cincinnati childrens hospital. Now that her liver is poisoning her body, the traveling and hospital stays have become more frequent. This is the reason we are reaching out for help. If she receives her new liver she will be in the hospital for about 3 to 6 months. If she dose not receive a liver in time we are looking at paying for her funeral. Life insurance companies will not help with these expenses due to requiring her to live at least another five years, which at this point (without a new liver) is highly unlikely. Shelbys doctor is saying she needs a new liver within a year. Our family realizes that another family will have to lose a loved one before she has a chance at life, and we pray for their family whom-ever they may be as we are praying to keep our little shelby with us. The money that we will be donated will be used for travaling to and from cincinnati children's hospital, food, hotel stays, and so that her family who loves her very much can be with her in her time of need, because 3 to 6 months is a very long time to be with out the ones you love, especially when you are fighting for your life. Thank you all for taking the time to learn about Shelby's fight for life and thank all who can donate towards this cause.
