Friends of Jessica – Help with medical, physical therapy and living expenses

An unforeseen tragedy can happen to any of us at any time and change our lives forever. Lives can truly change in an instant. On the morning of Tuesday May 9th, Jessica Goad was traveling to work when tragedy struck. A car travelling towards Jessica on Old Mountain Rd in Roanoke Virginia crossed the solid yellow line and crashed directly into Jessica’s vehicle. Unfortunately, the driver of that vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Jessica was severely injured (multiple bone fractures) requiring multiple surgeries. She’s currently in good spirits, but will need some time and a lot of physical therapy to heal.

Sadly Jessica was not able to attend her Virginia Tech graduation ceremony this past Saturday (May 13, 2023). She was only a few weeks away from starting her full-time career at Carter Machinery, where she’d been interning for the last 2 years with the Information Technology team.

This tragic accident happened during a transitionary time in Jessica’s life where she is left without disability and medical insurance. To make matters worse, the driver of the other vehicle was uninsured. With some time and intense physical therapy, Jessica will be able to start her full-time career at Carter Machinery; but in the meantime, we need your help. We are living in a time where finances are tight for everyone, but if you are able to help in any please do. Every little bit helps.
