Jessica’s Surgery for Endometriosis

Hi all,
I recently found out that my abdominal pain and many mysterious symptoms, that have led to numerous doctor visits, are from endometriosis and PCOS. Last fall I was diagnosed with endometriosis and just a few weeks ago PCOS.
Even though I have adjusted my lifestyle by eating an Endo curbing diet, increasing the frequency of exercise and taking supplements and vitamins, endometriosis and PCOS continues to impact me daily. I have constant pain and suffer from all the symptoms listed below.
My daughter surprised me with this picture she drew. It’s me with all my “disease” inside :(
Then she drew a family picture with “no more disease inside” <3
The procedure I will undergo is the gold standard for endometriosis treatment, excision (cutting out the endo). It is a more specialized technique v.s. ablation (burning the endo) which has an up to 80% chance of reoccurrence. I will also have my ovarian cysts drained.
My surgeon, Dr. Nezhat, has been pioneering this minimally invasive surgery an is an expert in this field. Because of his expertise, he always utilizes surgical assistants that are being trained by him to pass on these very important skills. Unfortunately insurance will not cover the assistant and we need to pay their fee of $2,500 out of pocket. In addition we will need to pay $5,500, the maximum out of pocket cost for our insurance, and pay for our stay out of town for several days for follow up visits since the hospital is around 8 hours from where we live.
I’m asking for your help. We need $8,000 to cover the cost of the procedure. A debt this large would take a long time to pay. My husband is working very hard to provide for us and is working as much overtime as he can. I stay home with our daughter but I try to earn money by selling Color Street nail strips, designing knitting and crochet patterns and sewing boutique dolls. We are doing our best but the last few years have been filled with many challenges and changes that have depleted our savings. We can't do this alone.

Thank you for reading this far! Anything you’d like to donate would be so appreciated! With several chronic illnesses I often think that my life will always contain constant pain, but the opportunity for relief is crazy exciting! This procedures has the potential to greatly improve my quality of life, by treating the endometriosis, and maybe even my fibromyalgia! Because sometimes women have remission of fibromyalgia after this surgery.
I can imagine my life not revolving around these conditions and it would be like a dream come true. This chance to be rid of much of my pain gives me hope.
