Give Josefina A Second Chance At Life!

Hey Everyone!

I feed a few strays in my neighborhood and this little darling (we named Josefina) showed up roughly 2 weeks ago. One night, she came close enough where I could see that a collar was constricting her body - wrapped from the neck to her shoulder/underarm.

After I was able to trap Josefina, Hidden Gem Animal Rescue arranged for a vet appointment immediately the following morning (07/19/24), where the severity of the injury was recognized. She was sedated in order to safely remove the collar, which had (over some unknown period of time) cut through the layers of her fur/skin. This created a large, deep, exposed wound.

The vet is keeping Josefina over the weekend and she is getting surgery this coming week.

Just looking at the pictures of her injury and imagining the amount of PAIN she must have been experiencing for SO LONG, is absolutely heartbreaking.
