Help Us, Help Frankie: Heartworm Treatment

For 2-3 months, this gorgeous baby girl was running around a demo worksite located near Shaffer & Plymouth in #Detroit. Thankfully the guys at the worksite we're kind enough to share their lunches with her and reach out for help. Our rescue family at Help Us, Help Them Dog Rescue was excited to announce that after two days on site, she was officially been trapped by our director Michael with the help from our new friends at Renascent Inc.. We decided to name her #Frankie. Coming into rescue with a body score of 2 and running around a demo lot in freezing temps giving her frost bite on all 4 paw pads just about killed us. From starting with 5 small meals a day to where she is today is a huge transformation. Once we got Frankie to an appropriate weight to be spayed, our vet partner contacted us to let us know that she was heartworm positive. Hearing the news was heartbreaking to say the least- especially since Frankie had already been through so much. Since she came into rescue, ever person that meets Frankie falls madly in love with her. She's the typical flirt who plays hard to get at first, but Frankie literally loves everyone - especially other dogs and kids. Now that Frankie is thriving and has the body score of 4 out 5, it's officially time for her to start her heartworm treatment and we desperately need your help!

Now here's where we can you your help to Help Us, Help Frankie. Heartworm Treatment is very expensive and for a dog that is over 60lbs and will cost on average $1,250-$1,500. Can you Help Us, Help Frankie? Frankie officially goes in for her last 2 rounds of injections for her heartworm treatment on November 30th & December 1st.
