Kansas City Parade Victims Fund
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Cristian Martinez, and I have lived in Kansas City for my entire life. I currently attend the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
On February 14th, 2024, about 21 people were shot during the Kansas City Chiefs Parade, including nine children. What should have been a day of celebration and togetherness, ended with senseless gun violence and a horrific tragedy. My heart goes out to the victims and their families.
While I have no direct relationship with those impacted by this event, I live by the value of helping out others when they are in need. Kansas City taught me that. I feel the moral obligation to lend a hand to the victims.
With that being said, I am creating a GoFundMe to help the victims of the Parade shooting. 100% of the donations will go to the victims, to help pay medical expenses and other necessary expenses.
Since I started this fund, I wanted to find a beneficiary for this fundraiser. After working closely with the GoFundMe team, I've decided to partner with United Way of Greater Kansas City. All donations will be collected by the United Way of Greater Kansas City to be properly distributed to the individuals impacted. My original plan was to personally deliver funds to each person, but I am grateful to have the support of an organization like United Way. I fully intend to continue helping this community through fundraising and on-the-ground efforts as we rebuild.
