Help Bryan fight Stage 4 Stomach Cancer

My name is Bryan Chagolla, married 10 years to my wife Seadra, and we have 2 girls: 6 year old Charlotte and newborn Rosalyn I am a self-employed art installer, which means I work for art galleries, museums, and art collectors with hanging their shows, and anything else related to "handling" the art. I have been doing this work for 10 years and have been able to make a decent living, enough to support my family. My wife also works a full time job at a local preschool. On June 10, 2019, I was hit with some life shattering news that I have Stage 4 Stomach Cancer It all happened very rapidly. Sometime in January of 2019, I started to feel some random chest pains and slight indigestion. I didn't think much of it; I just adjusted my diet a bit, cut out some things that I knew weren't good to eat, did some more exercising, and went about my usual routine. From this time and until April, I lost 20 lbs easily, due the changes I made. I figured this was a good thing. Eventually, I saw my regular doctor in April about it, and he thought it was a dietary issue, and put me on an elimination diet. I was to be on the diet for one month, and then come back for a check up. 2 weeks into the diet, I started to notice some abdominal pains, and some fatigue. I started to move slower at work, and was feeling a little short of breath. It didn't make sense - I was following the diet perfectly, and yet was feeling worse. I figured it was my body going through some "detox", as a response to the diet. Still being concerned, I asked my doctor if I could take a blood test, just to see if anything was going on. When I went back for the check up on May 24th, my blood results were great, excellent in fact. My numbers showed great organ function with nothing to be concerned about. I complained about how terrible I was feeling at the end of the elimination diet, with the stomach pain, fatigue, and shortness of breath, and an additional 20 lbs weight loss (making it 40 lbs total to this point). My doctor felt there was nothing to be worried about, and that he would then put me on a Cardio-metabolic diet - basically a Mediterranean style healthy diet. Over the following 2 weeks, I attempted this diet, but my stomach pain, bodily fatigue, shortness of breath, and now feeling of faint throughout the day continued to get worse. Still feeling something was very wrong, I arranged for myself to get another blood test on June 3, this time a CBC test, to see how my white blood cells were doing. Two days later the results came back and showed absolutely nothing wrong. All my numbers were within a good range. I continued to work as usual, albeit in growing immense pain, until finally on June 10, I could not take the pain any longer and checked myself in to a local County Hospital ER. They ran blood tests, and an ultrasound and CT scan of my abdomen and found masses on my stomach and liver. I was sent home with information that I might have Stomach Cancer, but to know more, I needed to have an Endoscopy with a biopsy. Because I did not have insurance, I had to wait until their next available date, which was July 10th, a date I knew I could not make, as the pain was too great. My hesitancy to go to an ER up until this time was two-fold: I did not have insurance, and my wife and I were expecting the birth of our second daughter on June 19th. Getting myself back on some insurance hinged on her birth, as that is the only time I can get insured (while outside an enrollment period), so I was trying my best to "ride it out" until after she was born, then take care of whatever it was that was going on with me. On June 15th, again with much pain, I had my sister take me to another ER, this time to Cedar Sinai in Beverly Hills, knowing they had a great reputation for treating cancer patients (of which I was still in denial) I was admitted there for 6 days, and missed the birth of our second daughter Rosalyn. They ran multiple tests and confirmed that I did in fact have Stage 4 Stomach Cancer. It sounded very dire. The oncologist there made it a point to say that any treatment I would receive would be to keep me comfortable, not necessarily to cure. Because I did not have any insurance, I was in dire straits. Thankfully, my sister, who was like a guardian angel to me during this time, works in medical administration, and was able to work around the clock to get me onto a good insurance plan, shortly after Rosalyn was born on the 19th. Thanks to her, I now have some good coverage, and am set up to get my cancer treatment at City of Hope, in South Pasadena, a renowned facility for cutting-edge treatment. I await my first round of Chemotherapy on Monday July 8, and I will receive treatment every 2 weeks for the foreseeable future. 40428794_1562380614297529_r.jpeg (Charlotte 6, and Rosalyn, 3 weeks) I want nothing more than to get back to some sort of "normal" life, where I can be with my family, play with my 6 year old, hold my newborn, and do the things we used to do: go to the park, go out to eat, etc. I also want to get back to work. I've always been an independent person, and take pride in the clientele I have built over the years as an art installer. I'm not the type that asks for help, for anything (to a fault). I come to you today, with every bit of strength holding back my pride and ego, to ask for help in covering my incoming medical bills, treatments, and medications over the next year. With just that alone, I estimate $15,000 in costs. Unfortunately, this is an urgent need, and I humbly ask for any assistance you might be able to provide. Every dollar counts. My wife and I, with the help of my amazing family and friends, do have a plan for us to get by, in terms of regular bills, food, etc. But the sudden impact of medical costs due to my cancer is something we cannot bear alone. Thank you for reading this. I appreciate each and every one of you
