Zy's Service

Zyqueire "Zy" Echevarria is the young man that was killed last Monday in South Philly. His family is in need of donations to cover the remainder of the funeral expenses.
Until recently he had been my neighbor for four years and my son’s babysitter since March on the 400 block of Greenwich. He was a quiet nice kid. He went to church with his grandparents and when his grandmother would pull up with groceries he’d get them all and bring them in the house without complaint. He shoveled my sidewalk when it snowed and would be at home with his sister playing video games on a Friday night. If he saw a package on your stoop and you weren't home he would pick it up and drop it off when you were home. He said chemistry was easy and enjoyed history.I could list a ton of examples of what a great kid he was. He had been at my house on Sunday night and while waiting for the Uber we talked about how now kids don’t get Christopher Columbus Day off. On the night of his vigil in the mail he had gotten a letter about taking the PSATs. He was a kind and quiet young man and will be missed by a lot of people.
