Stolen Camera Gear Fundraiser

Hey everyone,

I never thought I’d be in this position, but I recently had my camera gear stolen. I’ve been so adamant about my dreams and goals of pursuing videography + photography full time, that I invested in my future self by spending a considerable amount of debt on high quality equipment. I’ve honestly been quite devastated to lose the tools I require to make a living.

What happened?

On January 27th 2025, I decided to go on a hike here in Guatemala with some friends when I returned home to a broken-in house. The door to my room was smashed in, and the robbers tore through my entire room acquiring whatever they could profit off of. (We have reason to believe that it was a couple of teenager boys who drove one of us to the hike, noticing that nobody would be home for the next couple of hours).

The total loss amounts to $8,459.86, covering my camera, the lenses, my audio equipment, memory cards, hard drives and my drone. The fundraiser is rounded up to ensure that all the fees incurred by GoFundMe is covered.

As a full-time creator, this has been a devastating setback, and I’m launching this fundraiser to recover what was lost. Every donation, big or small, will help me replace the tools I need to continue my work. If you’re unable to contribute financially, sharing this campaign with your network would mean the world to me.

In the past, I remember saying that I couldn’t be too angry at people who would potentially steal from me in foreign countries, because I feel that I am filled with insurmountable privilege… And now, I’ve been tested by my own compassion.

I’m learning to get back into a state of neutrality and gratitude over my own wellbeing, but losing so much of something I didn’t even fully own has me feeling like I’ve been thrown into a hole, to which I have no control over.
