A Home For H.O.P.E. Acres Rescue
Tax deductible
H.O.P.E. was founded in April 2010 for the purpose of “helping our precious equines”, hence the name. We are a tax exempt organization that helps abandoned, neglected and abused horses all over the Lowcountry & state of South Carolina. We have been fortunate to participate in the rescue of some 60+ horses since our inception. We are proud to say that over 45 of those have been successfully re-homed to loving families. Over the years we have come to realize that the needs far exceed our means. As good stewards of donations we have received, we are proud of the fact that 100% of money and grants received has gone directly into feed, medical care and general welfare of horses in need. Because of limited funds, we rely on lease agreements or kindness of others to house our rescue. We are grateful of the community support we have gotten, but know at some point this can end at any time. That reality has now arrived. We need to find a larger permanent home for HOPE to increase our impact and ability to help the many horses in need in our state. Our organization has limited funds and has been in negotiations to purchase our own farm, which would eliminate the uncertainty of leasing. With this purchase we would be acquiring a larger tract of land thereby enabling us to help more horses and offer sanctuary, which our limited space has prevented. Because capital purchases have, in large measure, been borne by a minority of people within the organization we are currently $75,000 short for the purchase of this farm.
We are asking the good people and businesses in the surrounding area to help us in this effort. Donations to H.O.P.E. Acres Rescue are fully tax deductible. Think of it this way; we need a total of 75 folks to step up and donate $1,000; 150 folks to donate $500.00 or 7500 folks to step up with $10.00. The point being, any amount given would be a blessing no matter how large or small. I am putting my faith in God to work in your heart to assist us thus allowing us to continue to reach as many needy horses as possible.
Keep in mind for us at H.O.P.E. Acres Rescue, this is a labor of love and cannot be done without assistance of our wonderful community of supporters.
We currently have 18 rescues in our care from ages 5-32 years. Some of which will likely live their remaining days with H.O.P.E. We have , Shadow, who can no longer carry a rider at 31 years old; Ivy who came to us a walking skeleton, with melanoma, Indigo who came in severely underweight and untrusting; Brandy who is due to deliver any day; Honey who came to us in horrid shape; 4 surgeries and thousands of dollars later is now healthy and the list goes on... all who rely on us, H.O.P.E. volunteers. We must find a new home and pray with your help it can be a permanent one!
