Baker's Surgery

Baker is a 3 year old rescue chihuahua from AARF (Alaska animal rescue friends). Great organization!
We used to live up north but moved to Olympia recently because he doesn't like to wear booties.

Last night while walking on the coastal trail, he was run over by a mountain bike, both wheels, and tumbled down hill :(

Tough as he is, he made it out of the mess with only a broken back femur, and is in surgery at Seattle Veterinary Specialists right now. They seem really good, and I trust them.

Since his legs are so little they couldn't graft bone from them so will have to place pins to mend the break. Dr. Stockdale is so wonderful, and says he will hopefully be able to walk on all 4 legs again, given time.

Which is a Blessing because he lives SO fully and wants to for at least 100 more years. (see pictures ;)

The problem is, mommy was about to start grad school this fall at Evergreen for Tribal Policy, and can't, after fixing Baker's broken leg.

Please help me help him!
