Hi, I'm Fallon Harris and I am running for Position 2 for the Forest Grove School Board. I am raising money to purchase signs and flyers for my campaign. Every cent not spent on signs and flyers will be donated to Cornelius Elementary School. We don't need much but we couldn't do it without you! But before you give, please learn a little bit about why I want to be a school board member and what I will do for the children, families, and educators of the Forest Grove School District:
I am committed to providing an excellent education to ALL children in our community. I came to Forest Grove as a college student and fell in love with the community. I saw a town with citizens who cared and were working to make their town a wonderful place to live, learn, and work. Since graduating, I co-founded a nonprofit organization that has brought jobs into the community and thousands of dollars to our schools. As a member of our school board I will continue to work for our schools, teachers, children, and families.
Accomplishments:
- As director, worked to expand school learning gardens by providing funding for gardens and professional development opportunities for teachers in the Forest Grove School District
- As a teacher, developed and delivered a project-based class for the Community Alternative Learning Center (CALC)
- Advocated for and obtained funding for: CALC, afterschool programming at Tom McCall Upper Elementary, and academic field trips for k-12 students
- Participated in community and statewide events and meetings advocating for equitable, innovative, and exceptional education
As a member of our school board, I will:
- Strongly advocate to reduce class size
- Support our teachers as the driving force in our children’s education by advocating for professional development opportunities and classroom support
- Advocate for innovative programs that promote active, engaged learning
- Be committed to equitable education
