Family Ever After for Ruslan
Donation protected
We are the Turner Family. Over 4 weeks at Christmas, we were able to host a boy from Ukraine. Ruslan lives in an orphanage in Ukraine, often too cold and always hungry, he was given up to the orphanage at age 4. Ruslan is now 14, for the last 10 years he has not known the love of a mother or father.
Until Christmas, that is.
In 4 weeks, we bonded over a vacation to Florida for Christmas, where Ruslan said his dreams came true. He called us Mama and Papa, and confessed he wants to come home to us, to America, forever. For us, it was like he was always meant to be there, like our house became a home when this sweet boy, who speaks broken English with a think Ukrainian accent came into our world. he had to return to his orphanage on 1/17, and our world has been missing something since.
We had never planned on adopting children, particularly after having 3 of our own, and especially internationally. So when we felt led to adopt him the $40,000 bill seemed impossible.
Recently, we took out a loan to get started, $8,000. This will cover our costs to get started by securing the agencies needed to make this happen. We have to enlist the help of an adoption agency, a home study agency, and a Ukrainian facilitator incountry. We are able to make those necessary down payments now.
The loan is a HUGE blessing, but still have a long way to go and another loan would stretch us too thin. We are hoping that others will see the need for Ruslan and help us bring him home. Ukraine orphans are considered second class citizens, they have no opportunity. All of their paperwork is stamped with orphan status and they are never allowed to make a good like for themselves. At almost 15, Ruslan will be kicked out of his orphanage in a year, homeless and starving if we do not save him.
We hope you will help us and will be forever grateful.
