Family Tree Theatre goes to NOLA

Every family tells stories.
When creating "Tales from the Tree" for our graduate reseach project at The City College of New York we heard many stories from all kinds of families. Stories about family experiences, loss, secrets, and parenting.
We feel strongly that immersive, experiential theatre is the bridge that connects very young audiences to the older generations who love them.
Compelled by our own curiosity, we wondered if we could bring a family tree to life. What would it look like? Was that music we hear off in the distance? What is that delicious smell--is someone cooking up a family recipe? Who planted this tree? How are we connected to them? What do we know about our families? How will we remember and be remembered?
We spent two semesters researching, workshopping, performing, interviewing and creating ethnodrama based on our findings.
Now we have the chance to share our work at a national level this summer in New Orleans.
Your support will help us share Family Tree Theatre and we will keep you on our mailing list for future "Tales from the Tree" performances.
Thank you!
