Let’s Save Animals
Tax deductible
Farm Animal Refuge is a 501c3 charity. We rescue abused, unwanted, and neglected farm animals. This is our FIRST online campaign, and we need your help. All donations are tax deductible and we have no paid employees.
We currently have a two stall cow barn and around two acres for the cows here. But that means we are full for cow rescues.
For those of you who did not see our last cow rescues, we’d like to share their story.
We brought in a beautiful cow named India last July. He was rescued from the FFA program. We heard that he was named India after his mother. After a few months of knowing him, we just knew we had to do something special for him, so we went on a mission to find his Mom.
We cold called farms is San Diego. Until one puzzled woman finally responded, “Yes I do have a cow named India.” We were able to bring India’s mother, Mama India (He was named after her) to the farm. When we went to get her, we found out she had 5 month old twins. Naturally, we knew they were coming to live with our family as well. Mama India was used as a breeder cow for 8 years. And even though she was still breastfeeding feeding the twins, she had a little surprise for us. Mama India was pregnant, and she would later give birth to her last baby, Rose, here on the farm.
The day Mama India came to the farm is one we will never forget. Although they had been separated for over a year, our boy knew his Mom the second she came out of the trailer. She just looked at him, until he mooed and then she ran over. You could see the reaction of “That’s my baby.”
Expecting one cow and getting four was not our plan. But the best things in life are always surprises. And we are so happy Mama India will never loose another baby and Baby Rose will only know freedom.
We need to to expand our cow area before we can rescue any more cows and also to give the big grass puppies (cows) more room to play. And we can triple it and put in a new barn with your help.
This is our first go fund me in the two years we’ve been operating. Here is the break down of the new areas cost:
$1500 for corral panels: donated from an incredible friend and supporter (not included in the goal)
$800 in pasture fencing: for the cow pasture and to fix up the two acres they are currently using for the goats and sheep.
$400 drive through gates
$200 walk through gates
$6500 New barn
$1500 electricity
$500 goat play structure, cement, various building costs
I raised $2K for my birthday. That leaves $7900.00
We could make room for more cows, goats, and sheep with this project and we can’t do it alone. We need your help! Let’s Save Animals Together!
