Fight Like There Is No Tomorrow!!

Hi, my name is Rebecca, I’m a mum of 3 beautiful little kiddies ages 11, 8 and 4 and a wife to my hubby Troy. He’s a gorgeous, kind, caring hardworking man who recently came upon some bad news..... he has cancer! It was an accidental finding that he had cancer as it started that he found a lump in his testicle that he had checked. The doctor referred him for an ultrasound on his testicle and also on a kidney as a precaution as he had flank pain. The results came back that his testicle was fine but one kidney had a mass. After many scans and tests it was confirmed he had cancer in a kidney!! It was not just any cancer though, it is a rare, aggressive cancer to the point there are apparently only 200 documented cases IN THE WORLD! It is usually a cancer that is found in children and is very curable in kids but in adults it’s very aggressive and usually causes death, not something we wanted to hear. So, long story short, Troy had half of his kidney removed and he was off work for nearly 2 months. During the operation his lung collapsed as they nicked it which apparently this happens to 1 in 4 patients. After lots of painful days, healing, more scans and visits to the surgeon we thought we were getting some good news. They told us they had left positive cancer cells behind which they thought they cut enough of the area out but the kidney looked clear of cancer from a previous PET scan but Troy needs a CT scan and another PET scan which was booked in immediately. Recently we visited the surgeon to find out results of the CT scan and yep they were shitty results. We were told that the kidney looks clear but the cancer has travelled to his Adrenal Gland and lymph nodes and it growing quite fast. Troy was told he has to have surgery to remove the rest of his kidney, the gland and a whole bunch of Lymph Nodes. His surgery took place on February 19th, 2019.   Troys surgery went well, they removed the half kidney that was left, the adrenal gland and lots of lymph nodes, he is now left with one, hopefully healthy left kidney! Troy had his lung punctured again which meant more tubes. He is truly a brave guy as is anyone going through something like this. When we received the last biopsy results we were told the cancer has changed and they now said it’s called Papillary type 2, stage 3-4 renal cell carcinoma. It’s a non clear cell cancer with a 5 percent chance of survival. There is no treatment for this so Troy will have 3 monthly CT scans for the next 12-18 months and that’s also when we received the most heart breaking news that Troy has 24 MONTHS TO LIVE!! How do we cope with news like this!!
One day at a time!!
The surgeon said he will help us fight this cancer that he has but it’s a hard one cause it’s rare and its aggressive. We were also told that surgery won’t save Troys life but the surgeon will continue cutting it out until he can longer do that. We are going to fight the fight as hard as we possibly can with everything we have!!

The reason for me making this GoFundMe page for my hubby is not for sympathy but for a little help. Anyone who knows us knows that we don’t like asking for help, we feel awkward and would always prefer to help others but in this case we have swallowed our pride and we have put ourselves out there with our story. There is no treatment for Troy and after each surgery he has to have time off work without pay as he’s already used his holidays with the last operations he had. We have 3 young kids and he would like them to have as many memories they possibly can with their dad and there is also a few things that Troy would like to do on his bucket list. I would like to help him make these few things happen for him but can only do that with the help and support of this page and you guys!
❤️❤️❤️

From the bottom of our hearts, our family would like to thank every single person for their love and support throughout this journey and together with everyone’s help and support we will fight this!!

❤️❤️❤️
