High School Anti-bigotry film festival
Donation protected
The Filmshakers Festival is a film festival highlighting the works of high school movers and shakers (and filmmakers!). The festival aims to address the problem of bigotry in the United States and start meaningful dialogue between young filmmakers and their communities in the spirit of peace-building. The teens creating the film festival have grant funding for the first year of the festival, which will be in October 2019 in Charlottesville, VA. However, we are hoping to raise enough money to be able to host this film festival annually!
In a world where people who have more money get more fame and power, it's important to hear the voices of students. Many young people want to speak out against bigotry and hate, but have not been given a voice. The Filmshakers Festival is trying to change that, and with your help, we can!
