Financial Help for a Loyal Friend

Donation protected
Hello. My name is David Shiner from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and I am sure that all of you see countless go fund me pages all the time. I assure you that this one is different. Nearly 9 years ago my unit and I left Afghanistan after nine months of combat. We rotated back home but due to political red tape we were forced to leave one of our own behind, our interpreter Fred whom at the greatest of risks to himself and his family, served courageously beside us throughout the entirety of our combat tour. The actions of this individual directly contributed to saving American lives (including my own) on multiple occasions. I'm sure many of you are unfamiliar to the difficulties associated with procuring a visa under the states departments sanctuary visa program. My good friend and many interpreters were promised that at the conclusion of their service they would be provided a visa to come to the United States, the program was poorly run and poorly overseen and most of these brave men were left behind with that promise unfulfilled. After six long years of writing congressmen, consulting attorneys, and petitioning for a visa the time has come. Our brave friend has been given the go ahead to come to the country he so valiantly and faithfully served. If we can raise the money to pay his associated travel expenses this will happen VERY soon. If not we will be forced to wait for funding from the state department which has historically taken up to six months. Lets not wait 6 more months to fullfill a promise six years in the making. Our friend has been on the run from the taliban for long enough. Lets bring him home.  If not feel free to message me with any related questions. If you cant donate please share!

An additional note the funds will be withdrawn by David Lemoine who will act as a fiduciary on our interpreters behalf, David Lemoine served with us on our deployment and also became a close friend of Fred. He is also getting Fred on his feet and providing him and his family a place to stay during his first few weeks in country. He has set up an account in the states which will be used to withdraw donations that will be used to purchase airline tickets pending the issuing of a visa to him by the state department, any funds left over after tickets are purchased will be used to fund resettlement costs.
