James Mitchell, 87, disappeared some time before Thursday 12/14/2017 after reportedly crashing his gray Ford pickup truck into some rail cars in Golden, Colorado. The damaged vehicle was found at 8:10 am. The crash happened possibly between 11:00 pm on 12/13/2017 and 2:00 am on 12/14/2017.
Blood was found in the vehicle.
Mitchell apparently left the scene before police arrived, and has not been seen since.
Search and rescue teams searched the area along 10th and Vasquez streets, then went north along Table Mountain. Several searches were made with no clues.
Mitchell is described as 5-foot-10 and about 180 pounds. He has blue eyes and thinning gray hair.
He was last seen wearing a blue fleece vest, a dark print short-sleeved shirt and black shoes with Velcro closures.
He possibly suffers from some dementia, and does not have his wallet, identification or a cellphone.
With no clues or further information we are attempting to raise money to hire a private investigating group to help in the efforts as soon as possible.
Jim is a wonderful man. He is has served his Country and his Community and now it is time to give back to Jim and bring him home.
We appreciate any help that you can give. Please direct any questions to Bonnie Martin, Teri Zweifel, Mary Cessar.
