Fire Damage Fund for Sgt. Gunter

On December 15th, 2017 the home of Durham Police Sgt. Dale Gunter caught fire and was badly damaged.  Luckily no one was home during the incident, but the fire burned most of the rear and upstairs of the residence, resulting in extensive smoke, fire and water damage.  The totality of impair is yet to be seen, but a great deal of personal effects and memorabilia are forever lost.  The destruction caused by the fire will also keep the Gunter family out of their home for an extended period of time.

We are calling on our DPD brothers and sisters to step up for a fellow teammate during this holiday season.  Sgt. Gunter has been a mentor and friend to many of us, and now he needs our help.  We are also calling upon the community that Sgt. Gunter has so dedicatedly served to help out in his time of need. 

Anything you can give toward this fund will go directly to the Gunter family to aid in rebuilding whatever insurance does not cover.  Sgt. Gunter has stated that whatever extra he receives past the point of replacing whatever is lost, will go to the volunteer fire department who fought the flames for hours at his home.
