Fire Tragedy Fund

My name is Shane and I'm seeting up this page because I was one of the families who was affected by the fire that ripped through the second  courtyard are of Garden Apartments in Whitewater WI on the night of November 9th. I was just sitting and relaxing when I hear my mom ask me if I am too hearing the fire alarm that is going off. I didn't hear it until I really focused on finding the sound. I never thought much of it because I and others have accidentally set off their fire alrm with just cooking something and making a mild smoke. It wasn't until I hear my neighbor running down the hallway screaming to get out and there was a fire. We got a little worked up and started to look for our cats to make sure they get out safely. After a minute we decided to get ourselves out first. We open the door and the whole hallway is engulfed in black smoke. Fear runs through us even more at this point. Getting out through the front door was no longer an option so the next best thing was to run to the nearest window and push out the screen to be able to jump out. All of ous got out safe but with a few scratches  on my mother. It wasn't until another5-10 minutes before the fire department arrived on the scene. Two people were forced jump from the second story onto a police car becase of the late arrival of the fire department. Days later we were allowed re-enter the complex to see what we could salvage.  Along with the ruined technology, our apartment is also ruined. We are no longer able to live in there. We're currently residing in a apartment donated by D.L.K. Enterprises for 30 days. After the 30 day we'll be foreced to lease this apartment and or move somewhere else at normal rental rates when we're used to living in low income apartments that are based on our incomes, so it's almost impossible to pay full rental prices at this time. We're gathering funds for a place to live, replacing items that were lost, essentials, groceries/supplies need to live..
