This AMAZING ALL GIRLS STEM Robotics team of 5th and 6th graders has qualified in the top 20 among 5 other countries to compete in the Global Innovation Competition is in San Jose California June 18-22!!! YEAH!!! We will be representing Yuma, Arizona and USA!!! We need help getting these girls to San Jose so that they can have this once in life time opportunity.  The funds would be used for travel to San Jose, renting vans, gas, parking, lodging, food, and patent fees.  Find us on FB  page at Valley Horizon First Lego League or Twitter #Superaquasquad #operationwaterdropyuma

Background: In December of 2017 the Super Aqua Squad blew judges away with their innovation at the Yuma Regional FIRST LEGO League Tournament. They qualified for the Arizona State FIRST LEGO League tournament. In January the Super Aqua Squad team won for the Most Innovative Solution for Hydrodynamics. They were invited to submit their proposal to try to compete in the Global Innovation Competition. On April 17, 2018 we were notified that we qualified among all the other entries and were in the top 20 and were invited to the Global Competition. Students in the competition will be competing for the top prize of $20,000 to further their product development and make the world a better place.

Innovation:
Their question was: How can you transport water effectively from the helicopter that can not land? After multiple trials they came up with their Aqua Box. The Aqua Box has 92.9% success rate of delivering water from planes or helicopters to stranded individuals in the desert. Civil Air Patrol of Yuma was excited about their product. Red Cross of Yuma also loved the Aqua Box. Every plane and helicopter should have an Aqua Box because Aqua Box saves lives.

These young ladies have worked very hard since August 2017 to accomplish so much. The Super Aqua Squad team is the most dedicated group of students I have had the pleasure to work with. They arrive at school an hour before school starts and stay after school 2 hours  each day for 4 days a week to work on their project as part of the 21st Century Community Learning Center, before and after school program. In addition they work during their lunches to study and prepare for tournaments. They worked on their project during their winter break and spring break to do their best to represent their school and their community in each tournament. We are from a public Title 1 School.  We need financial help to pay for traveling costs, food, lodging. In addition, we need funds to file for pending patent. Any donation small or large would be greatly appreciated.
