Fishing Line Recycling Bins Palm Beach County

Donation protected
THANK YOU everyone!!! I will be building these today!

Hi my name is Megan McGrath, I am a student at Florida Atlantic University studying Environmental Science.  I would like to build a number of fishing line recycling tubes (monofilament recovery tubes) around my area. Only fishing line that is monofilament (not braided or made of wire) can be recycled. However this cannot be done by at home recycling bins, it must be sent to a special processing plant. In association with Florida Fish and Wildlife, I will be volunteering to collect regularly from these bins and ship the fishing lines to The Berkley Conservation Institute in Iowa.

Fishing line and hooks harm or kill thousands of animals each year, many of which are already endangered. I am planning on building these valuable bins by the end of next week and would greatly appreciate any help no matter how small.  The materials needed to build these containers are approximately $60-70 per container.

Please help me keep Florida's waters clean and our wildlife safe!
Thank you,
Megan McGrath
