FLAGG MOUNTAIN RESTORATION

The money raised goes to fund the restoration project for the cabins at Flagg Mountain and the stairs within the tower. The cost for the stairs alone began at  $19,000 but is much higher now after architects and the building commission got involved in the project. Our current projects are cabin restorations, primitive camping sites and bath house plans. One of the cabins will actually be the host cabin for the caretaker and long distance hiker Sunny that will be watching over the area. The total of $15,000 is just an estimate to fully restore one cabin.  Septic tanks and water lines are being installed for the public over the next few weeks. The Alabama Hiking Trail Society is donating all the labor but we need your help with the cost of materials to continue this work. Every donation will help even it's only $5.00.
