Friends and Family of Alli Flanagan

Donation protected
Allison Flanagan is 14 year old (soon to be 15) freshman at Whittier Regional Vo-tech. She's full of sas and sillyness.  She is a fun and vivacious spit fire who loves soccer, karaoke, movies and her dog Rosie!

Behind all the smiles and laughter there was a long history of chronic infections.  At age 8 Alli was diagnosed with combined immune deficiency and later confirmed to have Dock8 severe immune deficiency.

Dock8 is a genetic disorder of the immune system. Patients have a low number of T cells (white blood cells that provide immunity) making them susceptible  to infections, and results in a low response to vaccines. Patients have recurrent ear & sinus infections, pneumonias, allergies, asthma, eczema, and recurrent viral skin infections such as shingles, molluscum, & warts.

After many years of intravenous immune globulin therapy, antibiotics and doctors visits Alli and her family have started the journy towards a cure--Stem Cell Transplant! Her awesome team at Boston Children's Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute found a great match! Monday, October 17, Alli started treatment. She will be at Boston Children's Hospital (BCH) for the next 6-8 weeks getting her transplant.

If you know the Flanagans (Sandi, Scott, Kyle and Allison) you have been invited to a party a meal or movie; you've laughed till your stomach hurt (or pee'd your pants); you've quoted movies and worn silly costumes; you've tried a new sport (or color run) and you've always felt you had a friend ready to do anything for you and your family.

Sandi and Scott feel blessed that Alli has been in good health, they are surrounded by a great family and fiends, they are employed, have health insurance and a roof over their head.

There is a tremendous amout of love for this family, and this page is an opportunity to support the Flanagans and their team at Boston Children's Hospital. At the request of Sandi and Scott all funds will be donated to Boston Children's Hospital and Dana Farber Cancer Institute to support research and treatment of immune defiency syndromes.

If you can't make a financial contribution, please consider donating blood or platelets!
