50 years ago, on Wednesday, March 17th 1965, the families of the eight passengers and crew aboard Eastern Provincial Airways flight 102 were devastated when their loved ones were killed in a traumatic crash in Nova Scotia.

The Handley-Page Dart Herald aircraft broke up in mid-air shortly after take-off from Halifax International Airport en route to Sydney, Nova Scotia at 9:22am. A catastrophic structural failure led to the crash.
For 49 years the site of this crash has remained unmarked, until a dedicated group of individuals, including amateur historians and the family members of the crash victims decided to mark the 50th anniversary of the crash.
Your generous donations will help the surviving family members to pay for a memorial service this summer in the nearby community of Upper Musquodoiboit, as well as ongoing maintenance of a plaque and monument recently placed at the crash site.
