Flint (still needs) Water Crisis
Donation protected
I was online this week and as I was scrolling through the news I started to find recent articles that were posted regarding the Flint Water Crisis. Honestly, this has been off my radar and as I started reading I couldn’t believe that this is a crisis that has still not been solved or resovled. This is something that is going on in my backyard, I feel compelled to do something to try and help.
I think most-if not all of us-have been pretty blessed with our lives. We have a job, families, friends, education. If this happened in one of our towns where we live now, I know all of us would have a place to go. In fact, I would take each and every one of you into my home if you didn’t.
A lot of the residents of Flint do not have another option for many reasons, one of them being their entire family lives in Flint so they are all stuck in this horrible situation.
With that said, I'm reaching out to my friends, family, co-workers & neighbors and I hope this is something that resonates with you enough to want to help too.
This became bigger than I could have ever expected at work and as a result of that I am creating a GoFundMe page to make this accessible to anyone who wants to partake.
It's easy to donate and it WILL make a difference in someone else’s life in the struggling city of Flint. May even save someone from a horrible disease.
I’m asking for donations. $2, $5, $10…whatever you are comfortable with to buy water to take to our neighbors in Flint. Catholic Charities of Flint is still taking donations. This city is still in need.
So, What do you think? Can we help our neighbors in Flint?
With Thanksgiving around the corner it’s a good time to be grateful for what we have and help those who are in desperate need.
Our plan is to road trip to Flint the week of 11/14 and we would like to have all donations in house by 11/7.
Everyone is welcome, but no one is obligated.
