Flying High for Cam

Cameron Mayhew, a sophomore at Fort Myers High School, passed away on Thursday, June 2nd.

At 5:52 in the morning of June 1st, Cameron was crossing the street to board his school bus when he was hit  by a car driven by a 23 year old who failed to see the extended stop arm of the school bus.  The hit was strong enough that the whole right side of the Chrysler that struck him shattered.

Cameron was in critical condition, and he was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital under intensive care where a machine was helping him breathe.  The doctors told the family that Cameron had a herniated brain stem and that the next 24-48 hours would be critical.

Unfortunately, Cameron passed away just before two o'clock in the afternoon on Thursday, June 2nd. Cameron's friends and family mourned for him, and the whole city seemed to be in a grim mood.

Cameron had just obtained his driver's license the day before the accident, where he made the decision of being an organ donor. With this decision, Cameron will save eight lives.

Please donate any amount of money to help Cameron's family. Thank you.
