R.I.P RAEQUAN

I'm starting this account because no one deserves the pain of loosing a child. I can't help with easing that pain. But I can help with trying to ease the burden of expenses that comes along with laying a loved one to rest. His name is Raequan Haywood. The young man I knew was always a gentleman. I remember when he was around 7 or 8 years old and he wouldn't let me carry my bags in the house myself. He grabbed all of them and carried them in for me. He opened doors and made sure I was ok. He was always a gentleman. Despite any challenges he faced he never played the victim. I remember him wanting to play football in elementary. His mom was so scared he would be hurt. But he went out there regardless. Pushing through his pain. Despite his health limitations. The young man I knew would always put others before himself and never wanted sympathy from anyone. He was the man of the house in his eyes. And he would be the one to take on the world so his mom wouldn't have to.  I just wish the world could know the young man I knew. He was only 18 years old when he was violently taken from this world. I thank God for allowing us to have him in our lives for 18 years to show us that not all gentleman are wrapped perfectly in a suit and tie with a clean record and spotless character. Some come in a little man that was trying to show the world he can do it on his own. Someone with flaws. Someone tatted with a pair of nice jeans and Nike's on. I love you Raequan. You will always be a gentleman in my eyes. I thought you had more time to show the world what we saw in you. But that time was stolen from you. Another precious life taken by gun violence.
