NATHANS PROSTHETIC ARM
Donation protected
Nathan Johnston, my husband was 24 when he lost his arm in a tyre shredder at work in November 2013.
He was putting tyres into the machine when his protective clothing got caught in the machine. He lost his right forearm upto his elbow.
His employer has since avoided jail and it was found that he had removed the safety guards from the machine. His company has now been dissolved.
Nathan has needed extensive hospital treatments including skin grafts from his left leg and has since suffered infections and been in and out of hospital.
Nathan was only awarded £5000 compensation and his hopes for a prosthetic arm were soon shattered as Nathan has had to adjust to life without his arm.
The prosthetic arm is the Bebionic arm. ( videos on YouTube).
Nathan is a dad of 6. I am his full time carer. Nathan finds life with a missing arm a challenge but it doesn't hold him back and he can complete many tasks like you and I.
Nathan is my husband and the only words I can use to describe him are simply "incredible". It's a privilege being with him.
This arm will open up a whole new lease of life for him. He has a prosthetic arm from the NHS and doesn't wear it as it is a harness he has to wear and it limits his movements and is extremely uncomfortable. He could go back to work and do more of the things he loves.
Please donate to such a wonderful cause and for a remarkable man.
Thank you so much.
Laura Johnston.
UPDATE!!!! We have had a breakthrough!!! There is a company called open bionics that 3D prints arms and the cost is three thousand pounds. A huge difference considering the last goal was 25000. Please help and share.
