Hi friends --

This was the text message we received on January 21, 2026, at 4:19 PM, when Frank was T-boned by a drunk driver in a serious car crash. He is currently in active recovery. We're deeply grateful he survived. The aftermath has been real: physical recovery, trauma response, and major disruption to day-to-day life.

Frank is improving steadily, but the crash totaled both Frank's car and destroyed his main source of income. What we need right now is stability so Frank can recover, basics like: keeping utilities on, keeping housing stable, and avoiding a debt spiral while we regain footing.

Our goal is to stabilize through the next few months while Frank recovers and income reforms. We're doing the obvious things on our end like cutting expenses, applying for assistance where appropriate, asking our community for support, and opening new income channels so we can keep essentials steady through recovery.

Use of funds (in order of priority):

1. Keep utilities on (water/power).

2. Keep the mortgage current.

3. Food + household basics + cat care.

4. Transportation and recovery-related needs.

5. Minimum payments / preventing cascading late fees and credit damage while we stabilize.
