Help FreeFormulaExchange.com Keep Babies Fed

Hi, my name is Keiko Zoll. I'm the creator of Free Formula Exchange, a nationwide mutual aid platform connecting families who need baby formula to people who have excess or surplus formula to donate.

 

The CDC estimates three out of every four babies require formula as a critical source of nutrition during their first six months, and the current national shortage of baby formula is putting real lives at risk. I created this website because it was simply the right thing to do and it needed to be done. (You can learn more about what inspired me to launch the site here.)

 

In its first week of operation, Free Formula Exchange has collected over 7,500 requests for baby formula from around the country, with approximately 10 requests for every available donor. Funds raised from this campaign will allow us to build a more robust infrastructure for the website and cover expenses associated with hosting and other web development needs. Funding will also enable the complete translation of the website into multiple languages, and bring the website into ADA compliance for maximum accessibility to all families. Funds may also be allocated to help increase outreach efforts to bring this resource to more communities across the United States.

 

We are especially aware of those most impacted by the formula shortage, including rural and low-income families, families of color, single parents, immigrant families, and non-English speaking families — and it is our goal to center their experiences in the continued design and enhancement of the tool.

 

Should funding no longer be needed or more raised than is required, excess funds will be donated to BABY2BABY, a national network that provides children living in poverty with diapers, clothing and all the basic necessities that every child deserves.
