PLEASE HELP ME GET FROM NOLA TO NEW YORK CITY!

Hello, my name is Alexis Danielle Granville.  I am a 21-year-old college senior, this fall.  I am a Baton Rouge, LA native currently residing with my mom and younger brother in Zachary, LA.   My mom is a Special Education Early Interventionist. She teaches preschool and elementary aged children with varying degrees of disabilities from Autism to Orthopedic Impairments. My younger brother is a high school senior.  He will be going to college in the fall.  As a single parent, my mom has always provided for my brother and me in every way.  She always says, “we will make it happen”, well this time, I think I want to help her make it happen for me!
So here is a little piece of my story:

My greatest feat yet!  Here I go again.  I am setting sails on another milestone in my life’s journey.  My mom tells me that everything that I say that I’m going to do, I’ve done!  Well, I told her that one day I would work in New York City, not knowing that this dream would come true before I even graduated from college!  I am currently a Junior studying Mass Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations at Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana.   This semester, I was accepted as an intern with the T Howard Foundation.  The T. Howard Foundation (THF) has placed over 1,100 interns in full-time paid summer internships throughout the media and entertainment industry since its inception in 1993.  After numerous interviews through the foundation, I’ve been given an internship with the SMITHSONIAN SHOWTIME CHANNEL, which is an affiliate of CBS, as a Digital Media Intern.  My internship starts in June of summer 2018 in New York City, New York!
I just believe that if you put good things into the atmosphere, good things will come your way.  When I was in middle school, I told my mom that I would go to the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA), which is a prestigious performing arts school in New Orleans.  I auditioned beginning in my 8th-grade year and got accepted.  When I was a sophomore in high, I said that I wanted to compete nationally in poetry.  That year I became the Louisiana Poetry Out Loud winner which afforded me the opportunity to compete in Washington, DC.  There I ranked in the top 16 in the nation.  I kept on setting my sails, which landed me on American Idol when I was a senior in high school.  I made it to Hollywood, where I was in the top 80 for Season 14.

Now as I am approaching my senior year of college and setting sail being a college graduate that will be marketable in my field I am requesting assistance to help with my lodging and expenses while I am in New York for two months.

I want everyone that invests in this milestone of my journey to rest assured that I will definitely Pay Your Generosity Forward.  There is a philanthropic drive within me so much so that I’m ready to help the next person have a journey that will make all of their dreams come true!

From NOLA to New York…help me make this journey all that it can be!!!!!
