Fund Child Refugee Music Programs

Donation protected
Hello!

My name is Sophie Leveille and I am raising funds to develop an after-school music program for refugee and resettled children living in Comer, Georgia and funding the research needed to make it a success.

I am a Senior music student at the Mercer University Townsend School of Music, and over the last year have become very passionate about refugee rights and finding a way that I can use my skills to benefit the children living in refugee areas of America.

We currently face a shortage of international programs that effectively meet the needs of resettled and refugee children. Because of this, children in these communities are often not exposed to creative outlets, such as music and art, which would provide them with positive ways to occupy their time and help strengthen their self-esteem. In addition, children in these situations greatly benefit from an introduction to the arts as an emotional and creative outlet, an aspect of their development that is generally overlooked in efforts to rehabilitate and normalize their communities.

By donating to this cause, you will be supporting the creation of this after-school music program and the different elements needed to make it successful such as instruments, workshop materials, transportation, etc.

I would greatly appreciate any contributions to further this cause.

Thank you!
